Behind the Scenes Mother's Day photo shoot for Jack Wills

Photo shoots are one of the parts of the job that we enjoy the most. What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than in the garden amongst the blossom making jam jars full of flowers in beautiful spring colours.

Kati from Jack Wills provided us with some gorgeous macs to wear which suited the purpose perfectly - to keep us dry and clean while also making us look effortlessly cool!

As you will know we absolutely LOVE colour so when we have free reign over what flowers to use we always go bold and bright. For this shoot we chose to use lime green viburnum (gelder roses), hot pink ranunculus and some amazing yellow mimosa (it’s looking absolutely stunning this time of year - keep your eyes peeled its in full bloom all over London at the moment). We also decided to feature a flower that is fast becoming one of our favourites - the humble carnation. Often overlooked but actually they are now available in some really amazing shades and tones, and have the bonus of lasting at least 10 days to two weeks.

The colour combination of lime green, yellow and pink was right up our street and was only emphasised by the fact that Jack Wills provided us with a bright pink mac to compliment them!

This Mother’s Day we suggested that you try a more personal touch to your flowers. Instead of just grabbing the nearest bunch at the supermarket try making up a vase yourself. You can read our full feature on the Jack Wills blog where there’s some advice on DIY bunches as well as lots of facts and information about us as a brand and some personal info about as florists.

Big thanks again to Jack Wills for featuring us, thanks to Kati for organising, and special thanks to Lily for the AMAZING photographs!
