The food scape of London is broadening greatly, and more and more restaurants and cuisines are popping up all over the place! Having been spoilt for food choices in Japan, I am used to having healthy options wherever you go, and on your doorstep, and more readily available than here in London.
Being busy, especially in a city like London, I think it is so important to stay healthy and be conscious of it. Even if it means walking that little bit more every day or waking up that little bit earlier to exercise. This is something that has taken me years to finally realise!! I ate food and didn't care what I was eating, so long as it was food! I LOVE FOOD!
It is good however, to get a balance, and also to try and eat non-processed foods. Don't cut things out unless you are intolerant or allergic. There are tests you can take to find out if you are. Just have a good balance and be more aware of what you're putting into your body. The way you look and feel on the outside is reflective of what is going on inside the body. Sleeping well, eating well, exercising regularly etc...
I could ramble on ... but the point of this post is to feature Chop'd - a healthy lunch/snack place that is very quick and have many options to choose from, whether it is soup, salad or wraps. You are able to pick up off the shelf, pay and leave, or alternatively, you can make your own salad. Within the vegetable section, you get to choose three to add to your salad, or four if you don't use a bag to take your salad home in, and it is £1 for extra toppings. Not only is it healthy, but it is fresh and yummy also! Bonus! It always helps if healthy meals are tasty. I think people often don't realise that the healthy option doesn't always have to be bland! This is a prime example of simple, tasty dishes that are good for you!
